I am an attending physicist and Chief of the Imaging and Spectroscopic Physics Service in the Department of Medical Physics. I joined Memorial Sloan Kettering in 1985 to develop a program in biological magnetic resonance.
My research focuses on studying tumor metabolism and microenvironments, with the goals of developing new therapeutic targets and enhancing the interaction of radiation and chemotherapy to improve treatment outcomes. Currently, I am conducting preclinical studies to block breast and prostate tumor growth by inhibiting several key steps required to generate energy and important biomolecules. I have published research focusing on clinical and preclinical studies in both MRI and cancer journals.
